Project Overview
A logo design project for the Regina General Hospital (RGH) Unit Support Department within the Saskatchewan Health Authority, created during my time working as a Porter. While ultimately not implemented, this project showcases healthcare-focused branding with practical applications for uniforms and merchandise.
Design Elements
Logo System
Developed a cohesive set of logo variations featuring:
Stylized hospital icon incorporating a medical cross
Clean, professional wordmark "RGH Unit Support"
Supporting symbol set with caring hands motif
Multiple lockup options for different applications
Typography
Explored various typeface combinations including:
ABeeZee family (Bold, Thinn, Italic) for primary text
ABC Ginto Nord (Medium, Hairline) for secondary applications
Selected fonts prioritize legibility and professionalism
Symbol Development
Created two distinct visual approaches:
Architectural mark featuring simplified hospital form with integrated cross
Human-centered hands motif symbolizing support and care
Applications
Designed with specific use cases in mind:
Uniform embroidery and printing
Official department merchandise
Internal communications
Signage and wayfinding
This project demonstrates the ability to create practical, professional healthcare branding that balances institutional authority with approachability and care-focused messaging.
